The Chevy Trax offers style and practicality, perfect for making every drive fun for the whole family.
One of life’s greatest relationships beyond spouses, children and friends is with a family pet. Having a dog share your days is one of the most wonderful joys with their unwavering companionship, unconditional love and uncontrollable enthusiasm for you and pretty much everything you do with and for them.
That is one reason why the 38 Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers are so excited to participate in the annual Pickups for Paws event. Each of the dealerships selects a Metro Detroit animal nonprofit to support with pet supply donations throughout the month of June. It’s an event where pets and people get to show their mutual admiration for one another every day.
This is the fifth year the Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers have offered Pickups for Paws with the goal of helping nonprofit animal groups in the area. These groups range from the Huron Valley Humane Society to Detroit Dog Rescue to Bed, Bark and Beyond. Every dealership seeks to spread the wealth of donations by finding great nonprofits to support, giving these deserving animal groups what they’ll need to get through the weeks and months to come.
Each dealership will have a donation box on hand to take in pet food, pet toys, pet supplies and anything else that a dog or cat in need could need. Some dealerships also are sponsoring pet adoption days with their nonprofit partners so people can find a waggy tail and cold nose to love and add to their families during June.

Each quarter, the Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers supports the Metro Detroit community with these types of community outreach drives. Other events focus on pediatric cancer patients, such as the toy drive in December, as well as the military in September with a focus on creating special care packages for deployed soldiers.
June has become the focus for Pickups for Paws. To participate, bring in pet-friendly supplies to any participating Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers around the area. You can drop off your donation in the bed of the Silverado replica display inside each showroom.
Some wish list items include pet-focused items such as cat litter, dog or cat food, dog or cat beds, dog crates, Kong toys, collars and leashes, Nylabones, stuffed dog toys, dog treats, dog pill pockets and dog food rolls, like those from Natural Balance, Pet Botanics or Happy Howie’s brands.
But there are many other items that these non-profit animal organizations need – and the need for these items is truly year round. Some examples include waterproof blankets, Swiffer mop refills, small paper bowls and plates, rubber dishwashing gloves, paper towels, Nature’s Miracle stain and odor remover, fleece fabric and microfiber cleaning cloths. If you’ve ever owned a pet, then you know just how important every item here is to these groups.
